May Auction Results 2019
Rather unsurprisingly, it was Macallan back near the top of the auction last night with the 1946 52-year-old - always a bottle we like to see - sitting very comfortably at £12,300. Slightly down on some previous results but still a strong showing.
Tobermory Whisky Cask For Sale
We've managed to source another whisky cask which will be featuring in our May 2019 whisky auction. This is the fourth cask we've had up for auction from the Tobermory distillery and possibly the most appetising to date. This cask would currently yield approximately 280 x 70cl bottles of whisky currently at 23 years old; with an ABV of 54.2%. If you would like to imagine what this whisky tastes like, we've produced some bespoke tasting notes from the cask sample.

Alex Barclay Miniature Auction Part Four
It’s time for the fourth of our series of auctions featuring the collection of the president of the Mini Bottle Club, Alex Barclay. Last summer we collected over 5000 miniatures from Alex and he was kind enough to talk to us about this magnificent collection here. This month’s auction features another raft of fantastic miniatures and is dominated by Cadenhead’s - below are just a few of the highlights so make sure to check out the auction in full!
April Auction Results 2019
The latest auction provided its usual variety of curiosities, eye-popping prices and interesting trend indicators. Perhaps most interesting was the Black Bowmore 1st Edition which sold for £16,100. This is a strong price for this bottle, not a record, but strong, and it perhaps speaks to the fact that there is now a steady supply of these kinds of bottles to the market. As consistently high and undeniably attractive prices bring these kinds of bottles to the market more often, it’s understandable that there will be fluctuation within a narrow bracket of consistent prices. Still, 16k for a bottle that was 4k only a few years back isn’t bad.
