DELIVERY & Storage INFORMATION

Here at Whisky-Online Auctions we've been delivering whisky around the World for over 20 years, so we understand how to prepare your items securely to ensure that you receive them in the same condition they leave us.

Our in-house packing team will wrap and pack your items in our bespoke packing materials to ensure their maximum safety in transit. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously and endeavour to use 100% biodegradable packaging wherever possible.

Our sturdy delivery boxes and inner packaging are all made of 100% recyclable and biodegradable cardboard. Our packaging is strong enough for repeated usage and ultimately can be easily recycled if no longer required.

 COLLECTION

All Lots are available for collection from our head office and we highly recommend collection in person to avoid any unforeseen risks associated with delivery. 

All winning auction Lots can be collected once you have received your confirmation email notifying you they are ready to collect.

Please note orders will not be available to collect until the Monday following the end of the auction.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please note that all winning auction Lots must be collected within 14 working days of the auction ending. Uncollected orders will be automatically transferred to our Storage facility after 14 working days and will accrue storage fees.

DISCLAIMER
Due to the varying ages and conditions of bottles, labels, corks and their seals, their safe transport without further damage or deterioration is not guaranteed and we recommend that items are collected in person.

Unarranged storage will be charged at £1 per day for a maximum of 30 days. After such period we will sell or otherwise dispose of the Goods on your behalf (whether by way of an Auction or otherwise) as per our T&Cs.

 OUR DELIVERY SERVICE

All Lots are available for collection from our head office and we highly recommend collection in person whenever possible. If collection is not an option and you wish to have your Lots delivered, liability for loss & breakage is the buyers responsibility unless you choose to take our Loss & Breakage Assurance.

All deliveries have to be signed for and will only be left with persons over the legal drinking age for their country.

Delivery times should be taken as a guide only and cannot be guaranteed. Faster payment means you are more likely to receive your goods sooner.

 Loss & Breakage Assurance

Loss & Breakage Assurance (LBA) for deliveries is optional and can be selected at the checkout for your convenience. If you do not wish to take out LBA please understand that after your order leaves our premises all subsequent liability for any loss or breakage rests with you.

All our parcels are prepared with the same special care and attention, regardless of whether LBA has been taken or not. Please note that due to the various ages and conditions of bottles, leakage in transit is not covered by LBA and we cannot accept returns in these circumstances. We highly recommend collecting items in person from our head office.

Loss & Breakage Assurance for items stored in our free Secure Storage facility is a separate Assurance and is required for all items in Storage.

Items approved for our Secure Storage facility are deemed to be delivered as soon as Storage LBA has been paid. Storage LBA applies only while the items are in Storage and does NOT apply after items are retrieved from Storage for delivery. When items are removed from Storage and packed for delivery their existing LBA ends and you may then choose to take the option of further Loss & Breakage Assurance for the delivery.

LBA applies to all items individually and existing LBA cannot be exchanged or transferred between items leaving Storage and new items entering Storage.

 Storage Facility

As of October 2022, we have introduced a long term Secure Storage facility to accommodate anyone wanting to store their bottles with us. We can facilitate your storage requirements whether you have bought your bottles from us or not.

 THIRD-PARTY COURIER POLICY

ARRANGE YOUR OWN ALTERNATIVE COURIER
If you wish to send an alternative courier to collect your order, you must inform us via email to confirm your chosen courier and arrange a collection time.

Your chosen courier must:

1. Bring confirmation of the order number and delivery address and sign to confirm that they have received the goods from us before packing the order.

2. Provide their own packaging materials and wrap and pack your winning auction Lots themselves. Whisky-Online Auctions’ responsibility for your items will cease as soon as we hand over any items to your courier to be packed and any claims thereafter are the responsibility of your courier.

Please note that for items being dispatched outside the UK, if you opt for a third-party courier they must supply us with the correct export documents, otherwise UK VAT of 20% will be applicable regardless of the delivery destination.
