March Auction Highlights 2016

ANOTHER SALE FULL OF WONDERFUL BOTTLES, RARITIES, HIGH-END STUNNERS AND ALL KINDS OF JUICY DRINKERS AND OBSCURITIES.

The obvious highlights are the two Macallan 1946 52 year olds, the Black Bowmore 1st Edition, the SMWS 26 Malts set, the Macallan 1938, Macallan 1950 and the Auchentoshan 1957 50 year old.

But there are numerous other incredible drams available in this auction along side these stunners. There’s a beautiful old example of Black Bottle bottled around 1930.

The sublime Laphroaig 1967 28 year old by Signatory. The new Karuizawa / Kawasaki 1970s blend Ghost series number 7. The exceedingly scarce Boutique-y Whisky Company Brora Batch 1 – just 24 bottles of which were made.

We have a Macallan 30 year old Rankin, an Ardbeg 1975 cask 4704 and a full set of the Port Ellen 1983 Whisky Show bottlings.

There is another grand selection of SMWS bottlings including a remarkable collection of old outturn lists stretching right the way back to the very first SMWS newsletter announcing the sale of bottling 1.1!

We have both variants of the 1958 Macallan Anniversary Malt the vintage and the 1958/59 multi-vintage version.

There’s the Karuizawa 2000 cask 2326, the 1969 25 year old Glenlochy Rare Malts, and 6 beautiful bottles of a very scarce 1981 10 year old Port Ellen by Cadenheads.

There’s a wonderfully preserved example of the Glenlivet 25 year old Royal Wedding Reserve, a 1961 Glenfarclas bottled in the 1980s and the masterpiece that is the Springbank 1966 Local Barley cask 443.

There’s a rather tasty looking 1947 Armagnac, an enticingly dark Port Ellen 1982 Platinum Selection from Douglas Laing and a very rare 15 year old official bottling of Karuizawa.

The 1965 Littlemill Thistledown US bottling makes a welcome return, as does the Ardbeg Mor 1st and 2nd releases.

We have an Ardbeg 30 year old, a Lagavulin 12 year old White Horse, a Macallan 1960 and 1965 and a Glenfiddich 1973 Vintage Reserve.

In short, we’re not at all short of delicious old bottles. This is a varied and fascinating sale, rich in bounty for all manner of tastes and delectations. So dive in, have a rummage and happy bidding.

Best of luck
