Bourbon casks typically contribute vanilla, sweetness and gentle oak spice, while Oloroso sherry casks can bring dried fruit, nuttiness and greater richness. Bringing them together allows both influences to play a part, with the balance determined by the individual character of the two casks.

For anyone exploring older Tomatin, this is an opportunity to look back at the distillery’s 1970s production through a small, two-cask release.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0529/0036/4446/files/0726-597-1_a736e2eb-3219-4ba1-96c2-0eee9f59ac78.jpg?v=1793222011
https://whisky-onlineauctions.com/products/tomatin-1977-2015-36-year-old-batch-1-casks-48-30142-lot-id-0726-597
