Matured for around 27 or 28 years and bottled at 40%.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSt Magdalene, also commonly known as Linlithgow after its home town, is one of Scotland’s best-known lost Lowland distilleries. Established in the 18th century, it eventually became part of Scottish Malt Distillers and continued production until its closure in 1983. Much of the distillery site was subsequently converted for residential use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGordon \u0026amp; MacPhail established Connoisseurs Choice in 1968, with the range becoming an important showcase for single malts at a time when many distilleries were rarely available as individual bottlings. Gordon \u0026amp; MacPhail bottled numerous St Magdalene releases during this incarnation of the classic map label throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, including examples from the 1964, 1965 and 1966 vintages.
