No box.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA very rare early Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottling of Pittyvaich, distilled in June 1976 and bottled in August 1991 as a 15-year-old. Society cask 90.3 was bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.8% (104.7 proof), with the Society giving it the name ‘Dry, Lingering Aftertaste’.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePittyvaich was established by Arthur Bell \u0026amp; Sons in Dufftown in 1974, with production beginning the following year. The distillery had an unusually short working life, closing in 1993 and eventually being demolished in 2002. Much of its output was destined for blending, and contemporary single malt bottlings such as this are now particularly difficult to find.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDistilled in 1976, this whisky comes from Pittyvaich’s very earliest period of production, while its 1991 bottling predates the distillery's closure. As SMWS 90.3, it was also only the Society's third cask from Pittyvaich.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom the SMWS archives: “Pale, plain oak no-nonsense Speyside malt; nose sharp, showing aromatic solvents, some wood.
