Couillaud vineyard in Petite Champagne.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Vignoble A. Couillaud is a small five-hectare vineyard in the village of Clam, situated between the Trèfle stream and the Seugne river. Its chalky limestone soils retain sufficient moisture to support the vines throughout the growing season. The 1978 vintage followed a cool and damp spring and early summer, before a sunny, dry late summer and autumn allowed the grapes to ripen successfully. The harvest was carried out entirely by hand.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSelected by Martell's Cellar Master to showcase the individual character of this Petite Champagne terroir, the resulting eau-de-vie was released as part of the house's Single Estate Collection.
