In presentation box.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA 1972 vintage Glen Albyn, bottled in 1993 by Gordon \u0026amp; MacPhail for their long-running Connoisseurs Choice range.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGlen Albyn was established in Inverness in 1846 and, together with neighbouring Glen Mhor, became one of the city's best-known distilleries. Both were acquired by DCL in 1972, the same year this whisky was distilled. Glen Albyn subsequently fell victim to the widespread rationalisation of the Scotch whisky industry, closing permanently in 1983 before being demolished several years later.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGordon \u0026amp; MacPhail launched the Connoisseurs Choice range in 1968, providing an important showcase for single malts from distilleries whose whisky was otherwise rarely available as a standalone bottling.
