Production ceased in 1983 during the widespread rationalisation of the Scotch whisky industry, and unlike many distilleries closed during this period, Dallas Dhu never reopened. The site was subsequently preserved as a historic distillery and opened to the public.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGordon \u0026amp; MacPhail had a longstanding relationship with Dallas Dhu and released a number of bottlings from the distillery over the years.
