Originally established as Clynelish in 1819, the distillery was renamed Brora following the construction of the new Clynelish distillery alongside it in the late 1960s. Production finally ceased in 1983, leaving behind stocks that would become increasingly prized as the reputation of the distillery grew.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Rare Malts Selection played an important role in introducing these older Brora stocks to a wider audience during the 1990s.
