From a sherry hogshead, this dram is the colour of treacle toffee, and has good beads and legs. It hints at the delights of Jerez, with its familiar but muted sherry smells of rubber, sulphur and liquorice. Not far away, dusty orange blossoms hang in the heat, and when water is added, that's exactly what comes through. This well-matured whisky is great straight.
